Learning from personal experience VS other people

Learning from personal experience and from the advice of other people can really help you a lot about your life. If you do not have much knowledge about something, the suggestion advice of the person whom you trust will be valuable. They can tell you about their experiences and point out the advantages and disadvantages of certain situation. After that you can consider your own wants and needs and decide what to do next. Sooner or later you will have  more personal experience.

When you think about what you want to do in your life, friends and relatives are the excellent sources of information. They can provide you with information about various matters, such as work, school and foreign travel. They have learned many things in their lives and can make use of their experiences to help decide what you really want to do with your life.

However, in some cases there is nothing that can replace personal experience. For example, actually I do not like making a presentation in front of the class. I always feel that I will make a mistake although I am well prepared and have thoroughly knowledge about the topic of the presentation very well.

There is nothing except experience that can help me manage anxiety. I aware that the criticism that I got from my teachers and other classmates will help me learn from mistakes. At least, I am positive that in the next presentation. I will make it better.

In sum, I believe that the best way of learning about life is to have personal experience. No one can teach you how get along with other people, how you can realize you ability or what kind of person you are. You can definitely find the answer to these questions by facing different situations each day. For this reason, experience is my best teacher.
